About
What is MyDoctorPoint?
MyDoctorPoint is a free online serial (appointment) booking system for doctors all over Bangladesh. You can find a doctor, book a serial directly with the hospital or chamber, and follow it — without any broker or middleman.
Why should I book online instead of at the counter?
Online booking is free and fair. Serials are given in the order people book, so nobody can jump the queue by paying. You also know your serial number before you leave home, and you save an extra trip.
Which areas does MyDoctorPoint cover?
All 8 divisions and 64 districts of Bangladesh. You can book only the doctors who have joined, and more doctors and hospitals are joining all the time. Find a doctor near you.
Can I get medical advice here?
No. MyDoctorPoint only books serials. For advice, diagnosis, medicines or treatment, please see the doctor. In an emergency, call 999 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department.
Is this for emergencies?
No, MyDoctorPoint is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 999 (national emergency service) or go straight to the nearest hospital emergency department.
Booking a serial
How do I book a serial?
- Go to Find a doctor and search by name, speciality or district.
- Open the doctor's profile and press Book serial on the chamber you want.
- Choose the date and enter the patient's name, age, gender and your mobile number.
- Type the 6-digit code (OTP) sent to your mobile.
Your serial number appears at once and is also sent by SMS.
Is booking free?
Yes, booking a serial is completely free. The doctor's consultation fee is paid only at the hospital counter. Never pay anyone for a serial.
Do I need to register or create an account?
No. You only need a mobile number. We send a one-time code (OTP) to confirm it — no password and no registration.
Can I book for my child, parent or someone else?
Yes. Enter the patient's name, age and gender, and your own mobile number. The serial is tied to that mobile number, so use a number you can answer.
Can I book for tomorrow or a later date?
It depends on the doctor. Some doctors allow booking for today only; others allow booking several days ahead. The dates you can choose are shown on the booking form.
Why can't I book a doctor today?
Usually one of these:
- All serials for today are taken.
- The visiting time is over, or online booking for today has closed.
- Today is the doctor's weekly off day.
- The doctor is on leave.
Try another date, another chamber of the same doctor, or doctors available today.
How many appointments can one mobile number book?
One mobile number can hold one active appointment per date (pending, confirmed or present). After it is completed or cancelled, you can book again for that date.
Can I book two doctors on the same day?
Not with the same mobile number — one number can hold only one active appointment per date. Use another family member's number for the second patient, or book the second doctor for another date.
What happens after I book?
You see your serial number and booking reference straight away, and get an SMS. The hospital may call you to confirm you are coming. On the day, arrive before the visiting time and show the SMS, the reference or the QR code at the counter.
I booked but didn't get the SMS. What should I do?
Your booking is still valid. Open My appointment, enter your mobile number and the code, and you will see your serial and reference. SMS are sometimes delayed by the mobile network.
Can I choose a time?
No, there are no time slots. Patients are seen in serial order during the doctor's visiting hours. Please arrive before the visiting time starts.
What should I bring to the hospital?
- Your booking reference (the SMS, or the QR code from the booking page).
- The patient's previous prescriptions and test reports, if any.
- The consultation fee, to pay at the counter.
Will I be seen exactly when my serial comes?
Patients are seen in serial order, but the waiting time can vary: some patients take longer, and the doctor may see an emergency patient or a close relative outside the serial. Your serial number does not change because of this.
I entered a wrong name or age. Can I change it?
Booking details can't be edited online. Tell the counter when you arrive, or cancel in My appointment and book again if serials are still available.
I booked with the wrong mobile number. What now?
The serial belongs to the number you entered, and only that number can open it in My appointment. If you can't use that number, book again with your correct number (if serials are available). The hospital may cancel the first booking if nobody answers its confirmation call.
When can I book?
Online booking is open 24 hours a day. Each doctor decides how many days ahead you can book and when booking for the same day closes.
Serial number & status
What is a serial number?
It is your place in the doctor's queue for that day. Serial 1 is seen first, then serial 2, and so on.
How do I check my serial number?
Open My appointment, enter your mobile number and the code we send. You will see your current serial, its status and your booking reference.
Why did my serial number change?
When a patient before you cancels or is absent, everyone after them moves up one place. Your serial number gets smaller, so you are seen sooner. Your serial never moves back.
Can someone who books later get a serial before me?
No. A new booking always gets the last serial of the day. Nobody can be placed ahead of you by booking later or by paying.
What do Pending, Confirmed, Present, Completed and Cancelled mean?
- Pending: booked, not yet confirmed by the hospital.
- Confirmed: the hospital confirmed (usually by phone) that you are coming.
- Present: you have checked in at the hospital.
- Completed: the doctor has seen you.
- Cancelled: the appointment was cancelled; the reason is shown.
Will the hospital call me?
The hospital may call to ask whether you are coming. If you say yes, your appointment becomes Confirmed. If you say you are not coming, it is cancelled and the patients after you move up.
I missed the confirmation call. Is my serial cancelled?
No. A missed call does not cancel your appointment — it stays as it is. Please arrive on time, or answer if they call again.
What if I'm late or not there when the doctor starts?
Before the doctor starts, the staff check who is present. If you are not there, your appointment may be cancelled as absent, and the patients after you move up. Please arrive before the visiting time.
Does the doctor see anyone outside the serial?
The doctor may see an emergency patient, or a close relative of their own, outside the online serial. You may wait a little longer, but your serial number stays the same. Nobody can move ahead by paying money.
Cancel or change
How do I cancel my appointment?
Open My appointment, enter your mobile number and the code, and press Cancel appointment. You can cancel until you check in at the hospital. Please cancel if you can't come — the patients after you will move up.
Can I change the date or the doctor?
There is no direct change option. Cancel the appointment in My appointment, then book again for the new date or doctor, if serials are available.
Can I book again after cancelling?
Yes, as long as serials are still available. A new booking gets the last serial of that day.
What happens if the doctor goes on leave?
Appointments on the doctor's leave days are cancelled automatically, and you are told by SMS. You can then book another date or another doctor.
What if I don't come and don't cancel?
An appointment that is not completed or cancelled by the end of its date is cancelled automatically. Please cancel in advance so another patient can use the serial.
I have already checked in. Can I still cancel?
After you are marked Present, only the hospital staff can change the appointment. Please tell the counter.
OTP & mobile number
What is an OTP and why do I need it?
An OTP (one-time password) is a 6-digit code we send by SMS to prove the mobile number is yours. It stops other people and bots from booking or cancelling with your number.
I didn't receive the OTP. What should I do?
- Check that the mobile number is correct and your phone has signal.
- Wait a little — SMS can be delayed. You can ask for a new code after 60 seconds.
- Look in your SMS inbox, including blocked or spam messages.
- For safety, one number can ask for at most 5 codes an hour and 10 a day.
If it still doesn't come, email us at support@mydoctorpoint.com.
The OTP says expired or wrong.
Each code works for 5 minutes, and it is locked after too many wrong tries. Ask for a new code and type the latest one you received.
Will anyone from MyDoctorPoint ask for my OTP?
Never. Don't share your OTP with anyone — not staff, and not callers who say they are from the hospital or from us. Anyone with your OTP can cancel your appointment.
Which mobile number can I use?
Any Bangladeshi mobile number (01XXXXXXXXX) on any operator that you own or are allowed to use. The serial is tied to that number.
I don't have a Bangladeshi mobile number.
Booking needs a Bangladeshi mobile number to receive the code. Ask a family member in Bangladesh to book with their number, or book at the hospital counter.
Fees & payment
How much is the doctor's fee?
The consultation fee (new patient, follow-up and report check) is shown on the doctor's profile when the doctor has added it. The fee charged at the hospital counter is final.
How and where do I pay?
Only at the hospital counter, directly to the hospital, on the day of your visit. MyDoctorPoint does not take any money at present.
Can I pay online?
Not yet. Online payment may come later, and we will announce it on the website. Until then, pay only at the hospital counter — never send money to anyone for a serial.
Is there a service charge or booking fee?
No. Patients pay no service charge, booking fee or SMS fee.
Will I get a refund if I cancel?
Nothing is paid online, so there is nothing to refund. If you paid at the hospital counter, the hospital's own refund rules apply.
Doctors & hospitals
How do I find a doctor?
Use Find a doctor. Search by the doctor's name, speciality, division or district, or tick Available today to see doctors you can book today. You can also ask me, for example "heart doctor in Dhaka".
How do I know if a doctor has serials today?
Each doctor card shows a badge such as "Today: 10 serials left", "Today is full", "On leave" or "Off today". Use the Available today filter.
Where can I see visiting hours and weekly off days?
On the doctor's card and profile: the visiting hours of each chamber, and the weekly off days (or "Visits every day").
Are the doctors verified?
Yes. Doctors join through an application, and our team checks their BMDC registration before the profile goes live. Verified profiles show a BMDC verified badge.
My doctor or hospital is not on MyDoctorPoint.
Online booking works only for doctors who have joined. You can still find most hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres on the Hospitals page. Ask your doctor to join MyDoctorPoint, or tell us: email us at support@mydoctorpoint.com.
How do I find a hospital's address or phone number?
Search the hospital on the Hospitals page. Its page shows the address, phone number and the doctors you can book there. You can also type the hospital name here.
The doctor sits at more than one hospital. Which one do I book?
The doctor's profile lists every chamber with its days and hours. Press Book serial on the chamber and day that suit you. A doctor sits at only one chamber on any given day.
Brokers & fraud
Someone asked me for money for a serial. What should I do?
Do not pay. Serials on MyDoctorPoint are free and nobody can sell them — not compounders, brokers or agents. Book online yourself, and please report it: email us at support@mydoctorpoint.com.
Someone called saying they are from MyDoctorPoint or the hospital and asked for money or my OTP.
That is a scam. We never ask for money or for your OTP. Hang up and report it: email us at support@mydoctorpoint.com.
Can I buy a better serial number?
No. Serials go strictly in booking order. Nobody can sell, transfer or reserve a serial, and nobody can move you ahead for money.
Privacy
Is my information safe?
We collect only what the appointment needs (patient name, age, gender and mobile number), use it only for your booking and its SMS, and never sell it. Read our Privacy Policy.
Who can see my appointment?
Only the hospital and doctor you booked, and you (through My appointment with the code). Other hospitals and the public cannot see it.
How can I ask you to delete my data?
Email us at support@mydoctorpoint.com, with your mobile number. Some records may be kept for the time the law requires.
Who answers this chat, and is it saved?
This chat answers automatically from our FAQ and the doctor and hospital lists — it is not a person. Your questions are saved without your name so we can improve the answers, and mobile numbers you type are hidden before saving. Please don't type personal medical details.
